Purpose
We report our preliminary results in a Radio-Frequency (RF) treatment of chondroid amartoma recurrence involving almost completely the right thoracic cavity, in a 1 y.o. female, originating from 3 posterior costal arches causing respiratory distress and growth failure. Material and methods
Three months after surgical ablation of the lesion, a 10 cm recurrence was observed. CT guided percutaneous ablation of the lesion was attempted using a 3 cm Radionics RF needle positioned in 2 different costal levels. Results
Three months follow up after the procedure showed massive reduction of the lesion, increasing growth velocity and respiratory distress absence. Conclusion
The good results obtained induces us in scheduling a second RF treatment on the 5 cm residual mass.
